Media task

camera:
Good close ups of the guitar and the boy sitting on the bench. when it was silent at the beginning, the panning shots worked well because they had chosen a good setting the to film in.

editing:
Using black and white was very effective throughout it created a gloomy atmosphere which fitted in with the sound of the music. The transitions worked really well, they all fitted in with the speed of the music.

setting:
the water feature right at the beginning worked really well and it made the setting look more interesting instead of just being at christ piece. also by having it in black and white made the bench and field look more interesting.

performance:
i think his performane was really good, i liked that he kept a straight face throughout which showed us how serious the song was. it also looked like he was really playing the guitar which makes the singing and the video more belivible.

Filming

First day : We went to the train station and the cycle bridge. On the Cycle bridge, we stuck some "homemade" signs on the side, then we filmed ourselves walking past them carrying our suitcases and messing around. After we left the Cylcle Bridge we headed to the trainstation. When we got there, we got some footage of us waiting for the train, getting on the train and also looking very bored when the train is delayed.

Second Day: We had a right laugh in soham, we filmed a sequence involving us popping out from behind a postbox in a sequence that will be in time with the ' Ba Ba Ba' part of the song.

Another thing we filmed was sticking a stamp on an office workers head. We used Lewis as the office worker , and while he was typing, Harriet and Selvy came in and stuck a stamp on his head and generaly acting like onions.
We also filmed a sequence that had us all packing our suitcases so that we could edit it so it is a double splitscreen
thingy.

Storyboard timeline

0.0 - 0.30 - We are going to have a postman coming up to a house from a bird'seye view filmed from an upstairs window. We will then film each other waiting for the post to come and finally a close up shot of the post coming through the letterbox.

0.30 -0.45 - Someone picks up a postcard of Spain and flips it over to view a moving image of someone packing a suitcase in their room. We then zoom into this image. We use split screening to show the four of us packing. It will be like a mirror image of each other but obviously of differnt people in different rooms. We will need to make sure we get the distances away from the camera the same and where we stand in relation to the suitcase. We are going to keep flicking back to see live performance of the band playing.

0.45 - 1.00 - (chorus fast paced) We are going to run around sticking stamps on people in different locations. We are going to edit between each location so it can flick in and out of different ones. Places are: dance class, office, park, pub, football game, trampoline, gym (weights)

1.00 - 1.14 - We will keep popping out from behind a red postbox in canon with the music...the boys can also do some miming here. Live performance shots also.

1.14 - 1.30 - Walk over cycle bridge near station with suitcases one after the other looking at signs pointing to the different countries we're going to. Close up of signs then camera looks up to lead into the next section.

1.30 - 2.00 - chorus...sticking stamps again. escalator going up and down with boys on it miming.

2.00 - end - walking across zebra crossing with suitcases and getting on the train. At the end we will have a shot of a postcard of the band on holiday coming through the letterbox. last shot us looking through the post box and the post man walk past without giving us any letters, then last shot of the door and zoom into our eyes looking through the letter box.

Natasha Bedingfield

this video also has the idea of having moving images in an object thar normally has a stationary image.

The transitions and video content go well with the lyrics

Black eyed peas - where is the love?

In this video they go around sticking stickers everywhere which is like what we want to do with stamps.

The streets - Fit but don't you know it

This video has the idea of close up of photos which once you have zoomed in you see them moving. We like this idea and think we could use it in our video with postcards of differnt countries we could then flip the postcard over and have moving images of us in different locations sticking stamps tp people. this would be a good link together for each idea.

rubbish song but has countries in it and a good idea for flags

Ideas

We have a lot of brilliant ideas at the moment

- Live performance, with different instruments ( Guitar, Acoustic Drums). James thinks he can get us a slot at cellar bar 8 for it or his friend's studio!!

- Sticking stamps on people in different places- dance class, football game, pub, office, wedding , park(couple kissing), Media teacher meeting(angry) all dressed up as stereotypical country people eg chopsticks in hair and bright colours for japan

-Photos of different places-close up then become real with us walking in character

- Main singer stands in middle of green screen wall. Background roadsigns and hes spinning around looking at where he can go.

- suitcase opens and stuff falls on floor, different stuff from different countries

- Airport, Luggage collection belt, suitcases with different country labels on the suitcases

- different things from different places going along the checkout in supermarket.

- Postcard idea: either a postcard from that country or a piece of card then flip it over and on the other side a group in a moving image then zoom into the card and end up in that location with us sticking stamps on someones head
the ones with out a postcard, we will write the name of the country on a plain piece of card.

This is the band's original video for the song , we think its pony and we can do it a lot better!!!!!

Yes thats right , we said it

The song we have chosen is 'Collection of Stamps' by I'm from Barcelona

These are the lyrics

Collection Of Stamps lyrics,

"I've got one from Spain
and two from Japan
I've got a couple from Israel and Azerbadjan
I've got a plenty from Poland but none from Sudan
or from Fiji or Uzbekistan

You know I can't believe I'm telling everyone that I know
That every stamp in my collection is a place we could go!

And I've got one from Chad
and two from Nepal
I've got a couple from India and Benin as well
I've got a plenty from Poland but none from Sudan
or from Fiji or Uzbekistan

You know I can't believe I'm telling everyone that I know
That every stamp in my collection is a place we could go!
You know I can't believe I'm telling everyone that I know
That every stamp in my collection is a place we could go!

It´s OK, It´s alright, pack your bags, let´s leave tonight"
